First Year Experience Learning Communities:

Linked and integrated courses designed to provide new students with a positive successful entry into college. In addition to offering a unique and collaborative curriculum, the First Year Experience learning communities offer new students additional academic support assisting students in getting their developmental and foundational coursework completed at the outset of their college experience and on the road to successfully achieving their academic goals.

Developmental Math Yearlong Cohort:

A year long Math 084/Math 085/Math 098 developmental mathematics cohort which will follow the same instructor offering students a consistent supportive classroom environment throughout their year of developmental algebra study fostering retention and persistence through the developmental algebra sequence to college coursework.

Early Warning System:

Students who are indentified early in the quarter as being at risk for not completing their academic coursework are referred to academic assistance and/or counseling services with the purpose of identifying and offering support services to facilitate students finishing their quarter successfully.

Faculty/Staff Collaborative Inquiry into Student Learning and Success:

Based on the CLIPs –Communities of Learning and Practice model, groups of faculty and/or staff propose and tackle questions regarding teaching, learning and facilitating student success. These projects will culminate in the presentation of findings and recommendations for action by the college.

Advising Outreach:

Advisors contact all new students mid-quarter to welcome them to the college and give them the opportunity to ask questions, directing them to appropriate resources which may include advising or counseling appointments.

Supplemental Instruction:
