Ordering Transcripts
Incoming Transcript Evaluations
If you have attended other institutions that have awarded you college level credit, you need to complete an Incoming Transcript Evaluation Form to have these credits evaluated.
Your evaluation is specific to your program of study. If you are unsure of your program of study, please meet with an advisor or counselor prior to completing a request form. You will be sent a copy of your evaluation in the mail. Please allow six weeks to process.
What is the Difference Between an Official and an Unofficial Transcript?
Both the official and the unofficial transcript contain the same information about a students academic record at SCCC: a chronological list of classes, grades, and credits.
Only an official transcript includes the Registrars signature, the SCCC seal, and the date it was issued. An official transcript is delivered in a sealed envelope which should not be opened by anyone except the addressee. It is a legal document. There is a $3.17 fee for each official transcript ordered.
An unofficial transcript is the students academic record without signature, seal, date, or sealed envelope. There is no fee. A student may obtain an unofficial transcript by following the same procedure as for requesting an official transcript, set forth below. The student can also obtain the unofficial transcript through Student Online Services.
How Do I Know Which Type of Transcript to Request?
Request an official transcript when you send it to another academic institution; a government agency; a bank; an employer; or you need legal proof of your academic record. Request an unofficial transcript when a legal document is not necessary, such as for your personal files.
To Request an Official Transcript:
- IN PERSON. Complete a transcript request form in the Registrar's Office (BE1104) or download the request form found at: http://seattlecentral.edu/forms/Transcript_Request_Form_B-102.pdf and pay the required fee to the Cashier located in BE1104, Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- BY MAIL. Send a letter requesting your transcript to the Registrars Office. Your request must include:
- your current and previous name, if any,
- student identification number (SID) and/or social security number (SSN),
- approximate years of attendance,
- number of copies needed,
- address of transcript destination,
- your phone number and email address,
- your signature, and
- payment for total cost of transcripts: personal check, money order OR your credit card (Visa, Discovery or Mastercard) number, name on the credit card, and the expiration date.
